86:1 (Y. Ali) By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);-
86:1 (Picktall) By the heaven and the Morning Star

86:2 (Y. Ali) And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?-
86:2 (Picktall) Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is!

86:3 (Y. Ali) (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;-
86:3 (Picktall) The piercing Star!

86:8 (Y. Ali) Surely ((Allah)) is able to bring him back (to life)!
86:8 (Picktall) Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life)

86:9 (Picktall) On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out.

86:10 (Picktall) Then will he have no might nor any helper.

86:13 (Picktall) Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word,

86:14 (Picktall) It is no pleasantry.

86:15 (Picktall) Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad)

86:17 (Y. Ali) Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).
86:17 (Picktall) So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while.
